Avirbhav 2k16, organised by JK Institute, Allahabad University, opened with sports day, thus marking the inauguration of its annual cultural extravaganza. Students participating in the carnival were divided into four civilisations: Titan’s Bane – the Greek civilisation, Nile Tamers – the Egyptian civilisation, Shakti and Shaiva – the Harappan civilisation and Dragon’s Descent – the Chinese civilisation. Each and every participant competed to earn points for their respective teams in events like Athletics, Throw ball, Volleyball, Arm Wrestling, Gully Cricket, etc.

The day commenced with an Opening Mile in which every student ran a Marathon across the entire Science faculty. As per the statistics of the marathon run, there were more than 800 finishers, with 63% men and 27% women participating in it.
