Youth Fest Avirbhav 2k16: In the Cradle of Ancient Civilisations

The curtain raiser to the much awaited Youth Fest Avirbhav 2k16, a week-long extravaganza, opens the celebration and zeal of the forthcoming events. Participants from various colleges in the city have come together to let down their hair and express their creativity meaningfully. It’s hosted by the JK Institute, University of Allahabad (AU), annually. Here’s a report by Shreya.

As the spring season draws to a close, a much awaited celebration of the year – Avirbhav 2k16, ‘Fiesta for Renaissance’, a resplendent platform to showcase ones artistry and talent is all set to commence. The annual cultural extravaganza of the JK Institute, University of Allahabad (AU) is welcomed by everyone with immense pleasure. From the land of euphoria and jocularity, we introduce the week-long carnival, from March 30, to April 3, 2016, leading off to an exclusive fiesta embarking on creativity, festivity and merrymaking.

Inspired by the achievements of our forefathers, the theme for this year is the mighty Ancient Civilisations, the cradle of humanity, that were known to bear the legacy of our ‘collective consciousness’, our aspirations: the Greeks, the Egyptians, the Harappans and the Chinese. The participants are divided into four kingdoms: Titan’s Bane – the Greek civilisation, Nile Tamers – the Egyptian civilisation, Shakti and Shaiva– the Harappan civilisation and Dragon’s Descent – the Chinese civilisation.

The whole fest is vividly divided into different domains of events including 15+ Academic and literary events, 10+ cultural events and other 15+ techno-management and informal events. The center of attraction i.e., the flagship event, the most mystical treasure hunt of all-SQUAD-Run is projected to be a grand show. With numerous competitions in the field of dramatics, dance, music, literary and informal events, Avirbhav promises to set up a historical trend for a youth carnival with a yet more compelling exhibition of innovation and commemoration with contestants all across the city. The ravishing fashion show –Laavanyam, the mystical treasure hunt – SquadRun, and the much awaited DJ night have together added up to the fun quotient of the fest.

The opening mile, on Day One, is another recurring feature in which students, participating in the fest, run a marathon across the Science faculty, University of Allahabad, thus expressing their zeal for the forthcoming fiesta.

A fete for all: Avirbhav is undeniablya magnolious platform encouraging creativity and artistry. With an interactive website, a popular YouTube channel, an ever-growing fan base on Facebook, and this year, tie-up with our media partner, Different Truths (http://139.59.80.127), we have not only touched and surpassed past benchmarks but created new milestones for the years to come.

The sponsors of the event are Gate Forum, Mechasoft, Career Launcher, School of Broadcasting, Pannalal & Co., PCB house and our media sponsors are Different Truths and RedFM, who all have collectively come along to make this fest a grand success.

So, if you’re curious and adventurous, willing to participate in the most queer and mystical treasure hunt and to witness a thematic Ramp Walk, then Avirbhav is where you ought to be! The Student Coordinators and organisers of Avirbhav 2k16 invite you to the much awaited celebration of the year.
