Wockhardt Foundation Human Rights Awards: Lenin Raghuvanshi Honoured among others

Wockhardt Foundation Human Rights Awards were awarded to Lenin Raghuvanshi, Teesta Setalvad, Manoj Jena, Geeta Seshamani and Dr. Shayama Chona. A report.

On International Human Rights Day, Wockhardt Foundation announced Wockhardt Foundation Human Rights Popular Award in categories of Child Right Activist to Lenin Raghuvanshi, Minority Right Activist to Teesta Setalvad, Women Rights Activist to Manoj Jena, Animal Rights Activist to Geeta Seshamani and Disability Rights Activist to Dr. Shayama Chona.

Figuratively speaking, human rights may well be ‘God-given’ but they need human intervention cum vigilant implementation for making them a reality at the ground level especially in societies and communities, where the temptation and ill-gotten opportunities to thwart and violate them are far too strong. Going a step ahead, human rights need support and protection at a constitutional level, which pitiably may not even exist in several parts of the world. The end result is that human rights are forever trampled upon while the ruling dispensations merely pay lip service to them if not turn a blind eye altogether. Against this formidable backdrop, it is to the credit of brave-hearts, who risk their own lives and relentlessly pursue cases of human right violation and set things right to the best extent they can. Wockhardt Foundation salutes these noble men and women in its own humble way through these awards.

Wockhardt Foundation is a national, secular and not for profit organisation engaged in social service and human welfare activities. Wockhardt Foundation subscribes to the philosophy of where every smile counts. It is a movement headed by Dr. Huz (Dr.Huzaifa Khorakiwala), Trustee and CEO.

Heena Malkani, relationship executive, Wockhardt Foundation, writes, “Congratulations Dr. Lenin Raghuvanshi on winning Wockhardt Foundation Human Rights Popular Award under the category Child Rights Activist. Keep up the good work for always evolving and inspiring others.”
