Two Haikus

Two evocative Haikus by Dr Swaraj, exclusively for Different Truths.

(1)

The Fog

In a brume engulfed field
The lone scarecrow
A silent sentinel

(2)

The Dew

The perching Prinia preens
On a dew-drenched wheat stalk
The tender stalk bends to its will

  • Nice clicks… Fog, dew, mist are all a charm to enjoy and feel. Nature is so beautiful and full of bliss.

  • “The lone scarecrow”. A really enchanting thought, sir. The picture too recalls many memories. Its an amalgamation of many thoughts….

  • It is very difficult to sum up an evocative idea in three short lines. You have created the magic in both of these. The accompanying images make the verse profound and penetrating. Another valuable aspect of the first Haiku is that it carries with it a phenomenon of our agrarian life in a very significant manner. Thanks for such poetic expressions.
