Tooth Extraction

A witty body poem, by Meher, exclusively for Different Truths.

My wisdom throbbed
in the dentist’s trash-can

while the anaesthetised gum
waited
for the pain to begin

Alone
I sat bereft
of both wisdom and of pain.
