Three Ways Decluttering Helps

Clutter is not just physical stuff, its old ideas, toxic relationships and bad habits. Clutter is anything that does not support your better self”. Let us have a look at three ways de-cluttering helps, be it with regard to relationships, physical stuff or bad habits, opines Ritambhara, in the weekly column. A Different Truths exclusive.

Karen Kingston says, “Clutter is a stuck energy. The word ‘clutter’ derives from the Middle English word ‘clotter’, which means to coagulate – and that’s about as stuck as you can get”.  According to Eleanor Brownn, “Clutter is not just physical stuff, its old ideas, toxic relationships and bad habits. Clutter is anything that does not support your better self”. Let us have a look at three ways de-cluttering helps, be it with regard to relationships, physical stuff or bad habits.

#. Simplifies Life

“De-cluttering releases huge amounts of energy in the body. When you get rid of everything in your life that has no real meaning or significance for you, you literally feel lighter in body, mind, and spirit,” says Karen Kingston

What is the fun of carrying on with things that intoxicate your life? All those things that block you and are a hindrance to your physical or emotional well-being should be warded off. When you get rid of all that bothers you, you experience a feeling of simplicity and contentment and when you are contented you gain positive energy. Remember, a positive person makes others around them positive too.

#. Saves Your Time and Accounts for Efficiency

“Clutter is one of the greatest enemies of efficiency and stealers of time,” states Don Aslett.

Time is the biggest asset one has. Everything can be earned, but if you lose your precious time, you will never get it back. So why waste your energy and time on things that serve no purpose in your life and are stealing away your life from you? Life is a one-time offer; use it as efficiently as you can. Throw away all that robs you of your time and accounts for your inefficiency.

#. Helps You Change Your Life

“The first step in crafting the life you want is to get rid of everything you don’t,” opines Joshua Becker

Change is always good. If you are seeking change, try beginning with de-cluttering. You must have felt the sense of calmness from as simple a thing as getting rid of the objects around all over the place in your room trying to compete for your attention. Just imagine, if a simple physical de-cluttering can make you feel at ease, how wonderful it would be to get rid of all the things in your life that are intoxicating you in some way or the other. Bring some change in your life through de-cluttering.
