The Weight of Obsession: A Deformed Pang of Grief

My heavy lids open,
I see a mirage navigate
for a truthful pursuit
in the desert of my eyes.

In my thoughts,
I carry an obsession
of echoes drifting on a road
that’s got lost in a labyrinth of memories.

My shadow stares at me half-consciously
as if I am a stranger to it
A deformed pang yelps in my ears,
I feel a fractured hope limping.

The sinking sun
seems as big as my jaded heart,
It glows the brightest
before it sets off for a long journey
into another world.
