The Teacher Whispers Within…

A tribute to the ‘Teacher’ within each of us, on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, in India, by Maya. It’s the birthday of a great teacher, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (5 September, 1888 – 17 April, 1975), an Indian philosopher and statesman, the second President of India from 1962 to 1967. We, at Different Truths, pay homage to all our teachers.

There burns in each heart
the desire, deep seated,
to own someone,
to be owned.

Someone to share with,
A shoulder to lean on,
cry your heart out…
To admit ‘I was wrong.’

There are moments however,
You feel alone,
So terribly alone.
Your eyes,
a lake of anguish.

Suicidal thoughts overpower,
not a thing,
seems worthwhile.

All you need,
is,
Just be yourself.

Nothing else,

No one else.

For,
such be the moments,
there whispers,
The ‘Teacher’ within,
that might lead your soul,
to enlightenment.

Grasp the moment!
Don’t let it go!

For, that’s when…
You refuse to float on.
You refuse to play the roles.

You are detached.
A spectators of life.
Not a player.

At least for the time being.

You retrospect,
Introspect,
Know, where were you wrong.

You can see,
The Broken Coriolanus inside.

The ‘Teacher’ dwells within.

Infrequent glimpses though.
The glimpses of divinity!

Next time,
when you have the fit…

Let it encompass,
Let it envelope,
Let it overpower.

Bask in.

For,
Who knows,
When do you have it next!
