The Mother

Shail invokes Goddess Mother Durga, in a verse, in Different Truths

Mother has come home

visiting her children

like she does every year for nine days

in various forms and hues –

the epitome of power, compassion, and love.

All-encompassing

I see her in everything, every day –

in the largest of occurrences,

in the tiniest of thoughts

yet,

when she dons on the majestic divine garb

of the mighty Shakti Ma

she enwraps me in her motherly warmth

drowning my pitiful insecurities,

killing my egocentric reflections

until I get transformed

into the Being, I need to be,

not the human I deem to be.

Jai Ma!
