The Bard Within

Tabassum finds the bard within, in her poetic tribute to Tagore, as Special Feature. An exclusive for Different Truths.

You were just there,
Hidden in the deepest core of my soul,
But I could not see you or I failed to see you.
I failed to realise that you were there,
Just inside me, just inside my heart.

But I found you,
In my pain and pleasure,
In my hopes and disappointment,
In my love and passion,
You were just beside me,
But I didn’t look at you,
I didn’t go to you,
You were songs of my passion,
But in my ecstasy, the tune in my heart.
Your tune enthused my music,
Of love and pain.
But now I failed to sing your songs
I do not know how to sing your song

My life has become your songs.
Your Farewell songs.

You are within me
In silence, in solitude,

I try to feel you.
I try to listen to your songs again and again

I read you, I see you in your Arts.

You are not gone.

You are the Bard within…

The Bard Within

In every heart,

Of Bengali soul.
