On World Press Freedom Day

May 3 is celebrated as the World Press Freedom Day. Joydev penned a poem for the countless scribes struggling to voice the truth, at great cost. An exclusive for Different Truths.

When the battle seems forfeiting,
Rise up strongly,
Raise your voice,
audaciously,

Let not the malicious acts
Deter your spirit
Let not their intimidation
Alter your lyric

They will carouse
At your pain,
Give ’em answer
With your pen.

Let ’em bark behind you
Let ’em threaten your life
Hold your courage, and hold your freedom,
You are the envoy of true journalism.
