My Swing

A poignant poem about swing and the joys of Nature, by Sarala, exclusively for Different Truths.

My life has been a swing for long time
Left to right and right to left
I swing without fear and with force
I swing up too plucking the green leaves on the tree

I loved my swing which was
Made of a long coir rope
Tying both sides of the tree and
I enjoyed my swinging with a friend of mine

I had the confidence to
Swing along with singing songs of
Nature as I am a nature’s child grown up in
The sweat of the sun!

When I felt the need
I should be successful in life
I turn to my swing which has
So far never disappointed me!

A swing is a swing for me always
And my mood swings
Disappeared so fast as
I swing left, right, and upward!
