Lost Moments / A Caring Heart

Here are two poems by Shalini. In Lost Moments, she points out the futility of debates when we should pause and admire its beauty instead. Her second poem, A Caring Heart, decries the senseless violence that has gripped our times.

Lost Moments

The moon is on the move
Between you and me

Between you and me
Who shall possess?

Argument continues
Not knowing, moon belongs to sky

Before they admired its beauty
Moon dissolves in night sky

A Caring Heart

I care for the people I have met
I can’t see them dwell in pain
I wish they smile always
I wish to wipe away their tears
From milkman to watchman
Every acquaintance enters my care circle
I can’t see them die or even cry
You know, you all make my life
When you say a hi, I smile
I am assured I have a support
When you are not there a day
My eyes get worried, it prays for you
When I can’t help you out
I just request for divine help
If you do say, this care is love
Yes, then I do have many lovers

I love the entire world
So kindly don’t hurt anyone
through bombs, guns or words
Whenever you hurt someone, somewhere
this caring heart weeps.
