You and I

A poignant poem about the many unsaid things in life between a couple, by Shaili, exclusively for Different Truths.

If there was a rule-book,
We seem to have lost it.
You and I
Going against tide
Much has been said
And much has been unsaid
Nothing more
But you and I
Who will sort out this mess?
Not I, not you
And nothing can be undone too
So, let it be
As life goes on, as usual,
Familiar trappings
Morning tea and bazaars
Evening walks and lamp-lit nights
Maybe a glass of wine,
Every now and then
Why get into the details, I say
Let it be darling
Let it be….
