An intense, inward-looking poem, by Deeya, for Different Truths.

The whining noon

Eavesdrop on the dead shore

Of your eyes, it saunters on

The purring lips

The death of my cat

Is moon and madness to me?

The girl in satin

With auburn hair peanut eyes

Speaks the Inca tongue

I see death in her hair

Pinned to her nape

Helpless on knees begging for life.

An apprentice

Nestling innocence

Sturdy branches of struggling desires

Survives in this ocean of life.
