Breaking Free: The Nighttime Escape of the Captive Soul

Spread the love

Reading Time: < 1 minute
When the night sky
Painted dots,
And all were transferred
In the land of dreams.
She basked in the little delight,
The solitary night offered,
Though it was within her confinement
She knew she couldn’t tread beyond and
Inhale in the scented vapours,
The Shefali in the yard offered.
She was content with catching its whiff.

And closed her eyes in
Breezy solitude by the half-open window.
The gateway to the huge landscape was
Conjured before her eyes.
A yonder draped in enchanting mystery.
The lure beckoned her every night.
This has been her sweet cocoon.
That infused life,
To live the next day.
For she doesn’t own the day,
Her tasks as a marionette are no doubt skillfully run.
And all errands met at their best.

After the done is done
And all chores are winded.
Her strings are set free from the fingers of the operator.
The caged bird in her heart flutters and takes flight into her dominion.
She rules for some time in her universe,
Her sphere,
Where she decides
The journey of the night’s reveries.
