A 25-year-old foreigner girl, apparently Nepali, got mixed up with the location of a coffee shop and got down from a taxi. She sought help from a youth, who called his friends. They took her in a SUV on the pretext of helping her. She was repeatedly raped by four youth. After the gang-rape she was pushed out at 3am. Police is investigating the case. A report in Different Truths.

A 25-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four men in a moving vehicle in Kolkata’s Salt Lake region Sunday night. It was a recall of the Park Street rape case in 2012. After taking turns to rape her, she was allegedly pushed by the accused out from the automobile. The girl, apparently hailing from Nepal, is remaining in the region for the last 36 months. In accordance with the complaint lodged with the authorities, she’d left home about 11 pm on Sunday in a Uber taxi to visit with a coffee shop.

She apparently mistook the place and got off near School More at Sector V. She said she was mistaken about the place and therefore sought help from the youth, who had been standing nearby. The youth allegedly said he didn’t know just where the shop was, but would get help from his buddies. He subsequently called someone, a senior police officer said. Shortly, three youths arrived in a SUV. They offered her a ride to the coffee shop. Just as the youth from whom she asked for instructions and she got into the automobile, they sped away. The four allegedly took turns to rape her, the police officer said.

The youths pushed her out of the vehicle at 3 am, Monday, at Salt Lake. There, the girl maintained she was spotted by a taxi driver, who took her to Bidhannagar North police station. She was subsequently taken to the women police station of Salt Lake and a charge was officially lodged. A case was lodged against the four unknown youth.

The police has been running raids, although no one has been detained, said Bidhannagar City Police Commissioner, Jawed Shamim. Sources said authorities were scanning CCTV camera footage of the region to identify the vehicle. The girl was admitted to Bidhannagar Subdivision Hospital, where she underwent a medical test.

Sources said physicians have confirmed rape. Officials at the Nepal Consul General said they were in contact with Bidhannagar Commissionerate. “It’s a sad event. We have been in touch with the authorities,” said Sita Basnet, performing Nepal Consul General. Another official said it’s to be confirmed whether the girl hailed from Nepal. They were expecting a confirmation. They are going to write to the West Bengal authorities, requesting for a swift investigation, if her nationality is verified, he added.
