Kalanjali: Soul-Searching Hindi Poems

Sneha reviews Kalanjali by Anurag Shourie, exclusively for Different Truths.

Book: Kalanjali

Author : Anurag Shourie

Genre: Poem

My Ratings: ☆☆☆☆

Kalanjali is a collection of beautiful poems, which feels like coming straight from the poet’s heart and touches the reader’s heart and soul. There are 101 poems altogether in the collection, which includes long poems, four-liners and even two-liners.

But no matter, whether it’s a long one or a four-liner, one thing is common in each of the poems. These are filled with emotion and beautifully composed.

There are a large number of themes and topics, which are covered in this particular collection.

There are a large number of themes and topics, which are covered in this particular collection.  Some of the themes are human emotions, rains, love, longing, environment, flowers, heartbreak to name a few.

These poems are meant to read and re-read,  sometimes to recite aloud and sometimes just to read silently and let it sync in the soul.

You can easily read it as the language is quite simple and easy flowing.

The language is Hindi, but there are not any complex or heavy words for which you need to be on the lookout. You can easily read it as the language is quite simple and easy flowing.

The composition is quite crisp and easy to read.

A soul-searching collection!
