Intransigent

Molly explores the many layers and dimensions of time, in this poem, exclusively for Different Truths.

I am time
       intransigent...

don’t try
        to time
me out...

in tandem
         with
pulsations
         of the
multiverse
         I was there
the eternal
         enveloping all...

how I
         witnessed
voids that
         birthed
and broke up
         cosmic
bodies
         spawning
life,
         destroying
life…

men
         swaggered
in
         borrowing,
building
         the life power
to dominate…

meager
          motes
they are
          floating on
on me
          deciding
dos and
          don'ts
in vain
          attempts
to wall in
          wall out
my protean
          flow, floating
castles of
           calculation
sure to break
           up as
smithereens...

hah!
          in my onward
flow
          I find happiness
and grief
          as handmaids
to each,
         rise and falls
as part
         of the flow…

Time!

I am time
         the eternal
don’t time
          me out
with your
          narrow
hourglass
          scales
of months
          and years
eons I cover
           infinity
my space...
