I Walk and Walk…

Aarti deals with drudgery and futility of an unending journey, in this poem, exclusively for Different Truths.

I walk and walk and walk
Towards the destination unknown
Unknown, yet known
I walk and walk and walk
On the path unknown
Unknown yet known may be
With trees and bushes running
Herbs and grasses following
Or barren land leaving
Behind as bygones
Yes, there are roses with thorns
And other fragrances too

I wonder
I ponder
Why while walking
Some have them in their hands
Unheeded and unpunished
And some can’t even smell it
They are supposed to only walk and walk and walk
Only meant for so!
