Setbacks are a part of life. Every once in a while, something happens to set you back a little or It can be anything from a mild irritant to a huge disaster. Its how you deal with it that makes the difference. We are looking at a time in our life where change is the only constant. Inconsistencies are a part of life in which setback is a part of this effect. What makes us deal with this? How do we handle setbacks? Here I give a few simple steps that may help us overcome setbacks.

Understand the problem and stop dwelling in the past. Always forget the mistakes of the past and look for solutions that will help improve your situation from tomorrow. Why is this important? It is because you need to drop the baggage of the past, because if you carry that burden it will slow you down some time or the other.

Everything in life is personal, yet there is a way you can handle things with maturity. Afterall we are human and can indeed make mistakes.

Never let it affect you personally. Everything in life is personal, yet there is a way you can handle things with maturity. Afterall we are human and can indeed make mistakes. Try not to take things personally, it makes you emotionally week to take any decisions.

Learn from your mistakes, most of the time when there is a setback in life it is due to a mistake you have done. This mistake will come to light only if you spend time introspecting. Some people are experts in assessing the situation and can take calculated risks and preempt what can happen and would also know that this setback can happen. They immediately fall back on their plan B and they are able to work out a solution for this.

Always try something new, this will ensure that you either succeed brilliantly or fail miserably. But it helps you get a result.

miserably. But it helps you get a result. The satisfaction you get becomes better. Doing it often will make it a habit. But do not forget the other points mentioned here.

When in need seek support. Many things in life can be made better by just a little bit of support form the right people. Seeking support make it easy on you. But do not always rely on it. It should only be for improving the time it takes for you to get out of it and not for actually getting out of a situation.

Never lend or borrow money, you will realise that most setbacks in life are finance related. This has a lot to do with lending or borrowing.

Never lend or borrow money, you will realise that most setbacks in life are finance related. This has a lot to do with lending or borrowing. You lend something to someone and you are in a situation where you cannot ask or let go. This is one of the situations many people get into and struggle for the recovery. Borrow money to get out of a situation and suddenly you realise that it takes you deeper in trouble.

Set some time for yourself. In a day spend at least one hour with yourself. It is important that you are able to think of all the problems and come up with solutions. A friend once told me that when ever you feel that you are stuck with a problem, thinking about it often will never help. Just stepping aside, do not focus at the problem, look at it from a third persons’ point of view and most times the solution is right in front of you, which you were never able to see otherwise.

Work hard and party harder. This is just some fancy line people think of not realising the meaning it has.

Work hard and party harder. This is just some fancy line people think of not realising the meaning it has. Work hard, you need to spend a lot of time at work and ensure that it is successful yet the time you use to unwind should be longer. This helps you get better energy and more boost to start over and do something better and better every time we do it.

Keep track of time. Always keep track of your timeline and keep yourself on the watch. It helps eliminate and track changes and what we had done when and makes you more present.

Be transparent, always have a way of keeping things transparent with your partners, friends, colleagues, and bosses. This is what helps keep a track of how you did what you did and easy for people to give you solutions.

What makes you happy or sad is defined by your mind and not by the circumstances around.

Last but not the least be happy, it is a state of mind only you have control over. What makes you happy or sad is defined by your mind and not by the circumstances around. Keep things moving forward. There are no reverse gears in life, no rewind button or pause. Life can only move on and stay in play… even fast forward means you miss too many things in life. Play on!
