Hearty Heaves

Here’s an intense and inward-looking love poem by Anouchika, for Different Truths.

I bit my lips hard and faced Love
Love, bold and pretentious
Mindless of my heart’s tidal heaves
Looked at me with light heartedness,
Winked at me playfully and smiled coyly!

I opened my mouth, wanting to have
Musical artistic productions from my heart
Playing loud and clear
But I only ended up breathing in and out
Hoping that my cheeks are flaring not
With the deep hues of the tingles
That swim all over my body
Each time I face Love!

Love, so like a dandelion
Seeking solely to fly freely according to the wind’s blows
Waved at me and went on its way
While I remained wrenching at my own
Regretful throb!

True, since long,
Love has been for me, a mere triviality
Meant to be drawn on the seashore
So that waves would wash it away
Away from the sands
Away from my memory
Away from my whole self
Away, away from me!

Watching it go, free and carefree,
Mindless of my ache
I do wonder
If I need not such an attitude
Pray, what if I was given the ability
To take life lightly
To care not
To laugh at sorrows
And to aim only of living more adventures!

Why, however much I do yearn for
I shall never be able to help it
I remain, always, the thirsty yearning for water
I remain, always, the dying yearning for relief
I remain, always, the parasite yearning for blood
I remain, always, the lover yearning for Love!

Sitting in the shades of my own shadow
I gaze,
At the open skies,
Wondering at when Love would turn around
And care about me!
