Earthly Life

Life has been likened with journeys. Here Shalini compares the voyage of life with a train journey, in Different Truths.

Who is the engine driver?
Have you seen him?
I visit the seven compartments
where passengers reside
Some compartments big, some small
every passenger unique
they are diverse yet unified
Wars come and go
Jealousies and pride burns the seats
Peace and colours decorate the windows
They keep moving tirelessly
Ah what these watery compartments are for?
I count them one, two three….
Ah they are seven too
Where are they going, nonstop?
Why do they keep circling?
Where is the engine hidden?
I search in vain
Before I could decipher
I am thrown out of the train.
