Here’s a poem by Kabir, on the occasion of the centenary of the Bolshevik Revolution, in Different Truths.
Adhered to the wall
They craved for freedom
One after another punch
Throbbing on their faces
For them it was the ease of living
To be a tamed slave
Even when they were untamed from inside
Boom! Came in the first assault
Not on the chest and spitting blood
Making it a murder mystery
But on the brains of the prisoners
In the form of “Book-burning Campaign”
Rationality turning to a phase of irrationality
Dictators ruling with fanatic crowd
Back on their mind, they knew what’s wrong
They themselves are wrong
But it’s better to be a timid ant
Then to be a flat ant with abdomens out, killed
Boom! Came in the second assault
On the world which gathered for food
Fungus ruling over them, like a rich fruit
“Limit the world, then you will have power”
Best dialogue the cursed ear smiled upon
Boom! Boom! Boom, who’s dying nobody counts
Among the Red Corpuscles, in that thickness
A Red October was waiting to burst open
Making the world gather in the right side
Tolstoy, made the deal with his “War & Peace”
Even when the world was being pierced
His characters were germinating
Lenin, started his war which had an even result
A war which was meant for dying
To make their children respire freely
World which once had limitations
Now started to see a sky in that periphery
Where they can be the Galaxy of Fortune
Gorki, penned the war in his transcripts
On a mother, who waited for the war
Trotsky, waved his hand towards Gorki
Claiming him to be his follower
With ease Russia started a new world
Inside a war which was both hot and cold
Information telegraphed, some talked
But everyone knew what lies ahead
No, No, No, it’s not the zero result of war
Instead this war led to eradication
Of poverty, of fanaticism, of superstitions
They just started the Engine
With us as the fuel, to embrace freedom
“It’s all about People’s Power”, a perfect stamp
It still is Red and it still breathes
Even when prisoners still wait to be free
But you know what! It’s better now
Now we are Red, & now we fight
Better than a defeated, killed ant.
