Behind the Bars

Sunil talks about the caged life in a metropolis and the wish to break the fetters to merge with nature. An exclusive for Different Truths.

A tiny tot
looks at the flying birds
from behind the bars
of the grilled window
in a Mumbai
high-rise,

she
instantly

becomes one
with the blueness and
immensity of the element
eternal, fixed

and merges with the birds,

while waiting.
