Be the Gentlemen

Vatsala finds the brute strength of men, when they are crass or gross, unacceptable. She asks them to be the gentleman and fulfil the divine design. Here’s the poem, in Different Truths.

Slim or athletic
but always
the physically stronger ones,
O Men!
God has created you
with all his mightiness

You’ve been blessed with
brave knightly chests,
wise practical minds,
speeches and actions
of the Leaders

But O Men –
God’s beloved children!
Over the years,
what have many men become?

Men who are lost
in the dark,
Please , open your eyes,
Rise beyond your fake
anger,
ego,
superiority complex,
Connect to the true elements
of your creation

Along your  Life’s paths
You often come across
some good women –
God created children
carrying the softness
of petals-like bodies
but inner strength
of the  blessed life-givers

They are not your prey
but respectable helpers,
They are not your foes
but supportive friends,
Respect them,
They will respect you,
Value their hearts, minds
and souls,
They will value yours,
Hold their hands
with dignity,
They will always
be there for you

So Men,
Be your true selves!
Claim your real rights!
You are not meant to be
destructively domineering,
You are meant to be
the confident, selfless gentlemen.
