A second mass shootout in a nightclub in Florida, barely a month later, that was hosting a party for the teenagers, left two dead and 17 wounded. As many as 30 gunshots were heard by a woman barely two blocks away from the nightclub. She guesstimated that there might have been more than one gunman. A report.
Two people were killed and about 17 others were wounded in a shooting at a nightclub, Club Blu, in Fort Myers, Florida in the wee hours, on Monday, according to CNN and local TV reports that cited police sources.
This happened before the wounds of an earlier shooting could heal. Barely a month back, in a gruesome massacre at a nightclub in the Florida city of Orlando, a lone gunman had killed 49 people in the one of the deadliest mass shootings in the US history.
TV channels reported that the Club Blu had been hosting a teen party, at the time of the shootout. One of the dead is a 14-year-old boy. At least one person was detained, according to available reports.
The club was hosting a party for teenagers and reports suggested that those present at the venue could be as young as 13. A large number of police personnel were present at the scene. When police officials arrived at the scene, several victims suffering from gunshots were found in the parking lot.
A witness speaking to Wink News, a television channel based in Fort Myers, said there were reports of gunshots and people poured out of the nightclub. One woman who lives two blocks from Club Blu told the TV channel that she heard about 30 gunshots. These seemed to be shot from multiple guns, she believed.
Immediately after another mass shootout in a Florida nightclub, twitter was abuzz with the need for gun control.
