Digital Love in a Curated Life: Balancing Online & Offline Bliss

While it is often said that in a digital overdose, it becomes important to ‘digital detox’. However, detoxes are only possible when you have had an excess of them. What then is the ideal way to have a ‘digital life’ when all the work you do, from paying bills to generating art for your little one, using the AI tools?

Digital curation

Digital curation is one way to enhance your digital library and save it on your desktop, a pen drive, or a hard drive. Digital curation implies saving photos, articles, videos, and other material you may find interesting based on your area of interest.

Digital newsroom

Let’s face it, today most of the news we read is on the internet, on some news app, e-paper, or simply a browser after typing ‘latest news’ in the search button. Newspapers have a shelf life, but for the latest, breaking news, it’s best to stay alert and active through digital news apps. You can once again save your best read on your system with the help of MS Word.

Digital shopping

Life has become quite digital, even for the online shopping experience. There are so many items that are not available in your local market, and the ‘digital shop’ comes to your rescue. After getting back from a hard day’s work, it is very rare to step out into the market for some in-person shopping experience. There you go! It’s easier to open your laptop, log in to Meesho, Myntra, Nykaa, or Amazon and Flipkart, and buy something at the click of a button and have it delivered fast, too.

Daily shopping

The local fruit vendor or your subziwalla has also become a rare sight. The vegetables and fruits can be ordered online, and Blinkit even delivers them at the blink of an eye. Whoa! If you are not willing to cook and want a break from the usual daily chore of chopping vegetables, sautéing, and not ready to switch on the stir-fry, then Swiggy or Zomato is at your doorstep.

The list is endless; with new forms of entertainment like web streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime, even going to the movie theater has become passé. It’s not just a ‘fast food’ web but one of instant gratification, too! This makes it pertinent to dive deep into ‘digital detox’ modes ever more often, maybe twice a week if necessary.
