Focus: DeepSeek, GBS, and the Challenges of the Digital Age

DeepSeek is what the world seeks

No ‘wake-up call’ this
as Trump would like us
to believe.
No actual fears of data
and privacy; just a concocted
confectionary of codswallop
being fed to the world
as the universe gears up
for a rat race of artificial
intelligence innovation
at the cheapest rates
shocking enough to make
US stock markets overturn,
Silicon Valley, Wall Street
lose their sleep. Suddenly,
everyone seems aware the
United States is not the only
cool place to place your bet on.
China is there with DeepSeek,
a free AI powered chatbot
that feels looks and works
exactly like the ChatGPT.
So, why settle for something
with an attitude when you can get
something better elsewhere
leaving the self-proclaimed elite
grumbling because who wants
competition?! What they desperately
desire is global followers to retain
their universal power hold.
Data, identity theft?
What is it that hasn’t already been
stolen? All that the world desires
is another innovator, a fresh face
in the market, something cheap
while Liang Wenfeng, the founder
of DeepSeek laughs his way to the bank.

GBS becomes GPS for health alarm

Origins in 1916,
the condition found in soldiers
described by French physicians
Guillain, Barre` and Strohl.
GBS, an autoimmune disease
wherein antibodies, lymphocytes
of one’s immune system
damage peripheral and nerve roots
causing extreme complications kick-boots
like long-term paralysis,
home ventilation,
even death as the one recently
in Pune of a 40-year-old
chartered account who passed away
after a bout of diarrhoea, breathlessness,
weakness in lower limbs.
(Be on high alert if you have the above
mentioned dims).
More than 100 GBS cases, a sudden
spurt in this disorder in Pune.
Prevention is better than cure.
Everything else one can endure.
So, doctors advise to cook food well;
poultry, unpasteurized dairy
products to be washed swell-
the bacterium grows in abundance
in contaminated food and water.
So, be wary, be hygienic,
get rid of this deathly life blotter.

Pornographic Dark comedy

Unbecoming, a Pulitzer Prize winner,
unexpected of the cartoonist
of the popular Candorville and Rudy Park
comic strips, 49-year-old Darrin Bell
has rung a huge alarm bell.
Arrested for possession of innumerable
images- pornographic pages
of children, toddlers encountering
sexual abuse,
a dark mind’s dirty muse
created using artificial
intelligence tools; and the fool
pleads not guilty! How filthy!
All because of the images
are not real human children!
Wow! What ethical logic!
What a dark comedy of life this is,
cancelling intent because of the lack
of human evidence!
Even worse is the man is freed
on ‘supervised release’
leaving behind a spurt of a sick mind’s
disease. No wonder then, incidents
like the one in Pennsylvania’s
Lancaster Country Day School
had teenagers generating nude images
with easily available apps, websites
creating ‘deep nudes’
of underage girls, sharing
non-consensual intimate imagery!
If Darrin Bell likes reputed educated elite
can make a mockery of society
and responsibility, all that we are left
with a pornographic legacy.
