Sangeeta’s poem, exclusively for Different Truths explores hope, old wounds, and dreams as the year’s final embers fade, promising fresh beginnings.
The residual stage of the year, Covered itself with the snowy blanket. Slowly weaned away For the dawn of the new year. Droplets of shimmering light On the spectrum. Inviting welcome notes and wishes For the generosity and grace adorning the year. Heartaches were again intertwined with hope And dead butterflies jumped into life And started hovering. The year has set sail The surface is still the same. The tides lash and heave the ship. The year, as usual, started With alluring promise Would you say this is how it deceives you? Every beginning.
