The Alley of Love: To-and-Fro

An evocative love poem, by Sujatha, that reveals a journey from joy to woe on a winding road of emotions, exclusively for Different Truths.

A road that sped
right ahead
led to happiness
they said.

And the byway bent
to what grievous end
I feared
to comprehend.

I took the alley
that for sure I knew
wound all its way
to you.

And here I go
from joy to woe
in a constant
to-and-fro.
