Summer Serenade: Reflections, Lightning, and Time

These haiku poems by Jennifer capture the essence of summertime, from the enchanting glow of lightning bugs to the tranquil moments of lazy days.

The reflection of
Lightning bugs shining in your eyes
Makes my heart grow wings

***

Lightning crashes
In the distance while I am
Safely counting seconds

***

The clocks have stopped
Time lazes in a hammock
It is summertime

***

In the summer,
Time floats
Diaphanously

***

Counting cricket chirps
To figure out the temperature
Teacher’s child’s summer

***

Summertime
Bike rides to the library
Heavy-laden home
