Bondage

An evocative poem about a wise old tree by Dr Supatra – exclusively for Different Truths.

We’ll hold each other
The wise old tree
And the ebullient house
Full of stories and music

We’ll twine around
And clasp one other
Till time’s end
The house
Of rhymes and rhythm
Laughter and banter
The tree
Resolute and protective
Trapping light
Creating artistry
On the fading walls
Of its companion
Making symphony
Together…

Seasons passed
And stories changed

Silence loomed
As shadows
Engulfing…
Only the leaves
Rustled
And whispered
We’ll remain thus
Till time ends
Clinging
This earth
Our very own
Our common
Bondage…
