The Path …

A breezy love poem, by Sarala, exclusively for Different Truths.

Do you remember this path?
With flowers on both sides
Making it so lovely and beautiful

Every dawn and dusk we two
would go for a walk without
uttering a word enjoying the
beautiful nature

We two enjoyed the togetherness
And chatted on every subject
Under the sun as we both were
educated well mostly on all subjects

There was something missing
In me which I was trying to find out
Not getting the answer I asked
you do you know what’s troubling
My heart and you said it’s nothing
It's your love for me which is
causing the trouble.

We both laughed and agreed yes
I love you from the first day we
met at the beautiful path but
I restrained myself from saying it
As I was not sure of myself

Now, you told me the reason I agreed
With you totally and we both decided
To get married in the month of
April, when the first rain wets the
Parched lands and lovelorn hearts

A beautiful love story took shape
In the month of April when it
first rained and we inhaled the
fresh petrichor arising
from the brown earth sublime!
