Still Waiting…

A Christmas poem, in the backdrop of pandemic, by Prasanna, exclusively for Different Truths.

Lo! Arrived
yet another Christmas
With songs of Yuletide,
bringing hope and cheers,
Albeit,
looming darkness
of the pandemic,
with its mutants still on ride,
roaring tears
of dominance and power,
being crushed are the innocents
under tyrannical commanders,
unsolicited calls of the rampage,
brutal snatching of souls
as their breath is at stake,
with the eventual massacre
from outraging the modesty,

S... senseless authorities,
M... mindless mentalities,
C... cruel intentions,

ruling the roost.
seasons passing
yet, the showers of bliss
till to touch the hearts
Winters are raged to the burning
in the heat of wildfires,
Walking through the forests
is the mankind
gorging every bit of land,
rivers dried out
to become a deluge in the flow
of streaming unpredictable
Weather conditions,
Yes,
festivals and years
passing through the times,
I’m
still waiting for the tunes of harmony,
under the stars of the Blue Moon.
