Sneha reviews a science thriller by Mamta Kashyap, exclusively for Different Truths.
Author: Mamta Kashyap
Genre: Science Thriller
My Ratings: ☆☆☆☆☆
This is my second book by the author. First thing I will say that she amazes me with her range of writing. If I loved her first book, as it was of romantic genre, this book completely bowled me over. This is the story of Maddy, an orphan, who is better known as ‘Freak’, because of her superpowers. Although she was completely oblivious of how and why she got such superpowers, she was able to control it to some extent.
How things change on her 15th birthday and whether her life changed for best or worst, you must read it to know it. A parallel story about a business tycoon, Hans Calloway and his dark secrets runs along. How and whether Maddy and Hans will cross paths with each other? There are many more questions, and you will find answers to each one in the pages of this book only.
The story moves back and forth between past and present and how all the missing pieces of puzzle fall in place is really a nail-biting experience. The story is close-knit and gripping. The characters are well-formed. The language is simple yet flawless. The narration is fast-paced.
The story ends at a cliffhanger and leaves us longing for more.
Eagerly waiting for the second part.
An enthralling read!
