An evocative poem and a tribute for a friend, by Rituparna, exclusively for Different Truths.
There lies down my good old friend,
company since my girlhood days.
Helped me compose so many tunes,
so many moments of sentiments.
So many days of so many joys,
so many days of so many fears,
were piled up on the corner of time,
some in light, some in darkness.
Loitered with me in my thoughts,
cuddled my feelings in bouquets,
adorned the dawns of my life,
you’re the panacea to all my pains.
All those fluid of all those jazz,
and rhyme and rhythm of my life,
all those moments, so mellifluous,
are stringed to your chords, so fine.
Never ever thought of penning
any tune about you my dear friend.
Tried to do it a number of times, but
time stole away time, in its own trend.
Dawning glory has climbed atop,
midday sun, now kneels down too.
Oh my guitar would you pardon me?
Is it ever that late to compose on you?
