(After Rabindranath Tagore)
A poetic tribute to Tagore, by Nalini, exclusively for Different Truths
As my days pass in the crowded market of this world
and I get sucked into cavalcade of mechanicals
let the perfunctory laughter turn to ashes on my tongue
and if loveless, my heart into dead weight stone
let me not forget for a moment
true love seeks not to give in to despair
but to honour life and everything you lived by
in dreams and in wakeful hours
to be the best version of me
just as you would have wanted.

Beautiful tribute!
Beautifully captured the true essence of love which is sadly forgotten in this materialistically selfish world.
You have presented the tribute to Gurudev in short but wonderful lines. You’ve just poured your heart into this poem to pay homage to the great poet-Tigore
You have presented heartily homage to the great Indian poet who echoes throughout the world.
