Oh, This COVID!

(A Letter from a Father)

An evocative poem by Sarla, about the might of the tiny virus, COVID, an exclusive for Different Truths.

Till now man ruled the world
With his might together with
his intelligence or stupidness
Today the globe is shaking
With no balance like a drunken man
Unable to stand straight !
Today, COVID rules the world
The way it wants to !
The globe is shaking, yes
No one has any say
When COVID rules !
Gone are the days of freedom
When friends shook hands
And kissed each other
And ate together from one plate
Gone are the days
Lovers walked hand in hand
And kissed with passion
Now they stand a mile apart
And love talk in sign language
And send flying kisses
That too with hesitation
As the breeze will carry the
Deadly virus !
Senior citizens are
Under housearrest
For their own safety !
Where this COVID is taking us to
Only the virus knows the answer
God is sitting on his majestic throne
With a smile
Oh man repent, repent now
For all mistakes you have done
Killing each other and destroying
every good thing
I gifted to you with love !
Let me call back the COVID back
When i am satisfied
You are obeying my commandments
Till then
No get togethers
No parties
No love making
Causing big hazard
To mankind and the whole globe!
Take care,
Your loving father
