Seagull atop Straw Umbrella

A nature poem that encompasses history, culture, business, in its many layers. A Different Truths exclusive.

Seagull perched atop straw umbrella on white sands
Meditative on acceptance by locals of Mexican lands
Taking in indulged visitors at Rivera Maya
Strip serviced by mixed races descended from Maya
Food, fun, lavishness warm hospitality cloaks crowds
Lonely alone happy trapped merry folks it shrouds
Games, songs, music, shows, activities light up merry
Pushing away mundane, anxieties, worry to earn a penny
Forgotten are tariff wars, dropped are border wall calls
Unsaid are fears, insecurities, of drug death casualty falls
It takes beauty of rich heritage of ancient land
To create amongst indulgence, meditation purely bland
Seagull, crow, sparrow, peacock, monkey cohabiting
Mexican, Mayan, Spanish Catholics, Caribbean thriving
Rich in obsidian, math, calendar, cenote, Invisible River
Influx of tourism revenue uplifts, earns and enriches,
Mystery of dead and ancient culture beckons to shivers
Seagull is lost to music of tidal frothy lull
As life and ocean forever sing to remain full.
