A Place of Beauty

An intense sensuous poem by Meenakshi, exclusively for Different Truths.

Close your eyes, darling
Hold my hand
Tightly
I’ll lead the way
To the place where
There is beauty, love, hope and happiness
This place is safe, enriching and glorious
Flowers bloom all day
Trees sway in unison to the winds tune
Rivers flow gently, steadily
Birds chirp and sing all day
The skies are blue
The clouds wisp past in gentle motion
The grass is sweeter with the dew
Come with me
Lie on the grass and let’s watch the clouds
Drift past lazily
Listen to the birds chirping
And singing their songs of lust
Hear the tender tinkling
Of the river as it caresses the rocks
And the banks
Listen to the wind
Whispering sweet nothings to the trees
And the trees gently nodding
To each story
Come darling
Lie back and let’s hold each other close
And experience this utopia
Right here, on my bed
Hand in hand
Floating in my dreams!
