Someone once asked why Lord Krishna charms us all. Well, he broke the established norms and rules. The Natkhat (naughty) child in him wins the hearts of one and all! You may be wondering, why I am digressing! Like Krishna, I will tell you, how you too can break the ‘rules’ and do things your way, when it comes to dressing.

Needless to say, you need a certain kind of panache to do things differently. While fashion, follows the beaten track (read play-it-safe), style is your personal statement. Be the gutsy gal and mix-n-match dresses imaginatively. Trust me you will be a head-turner in any party!

Style is not about following any copybook rules. There is no right or wrong way to dress. It’s you who bears the idea and nurtures it by daring to do it your way.

With this traditional white cut work Dhakai saree, I would team up a knitted spaghetti long fitted top and long dangling pearls with a choker to give my neck a decor (by the way it, was a wristlet which I love to put on my neck). It’s irresistible!

Now, if I were to go to a temple for an occasion, this wouldn’t be my makeover. I would rather choose a long netted blouse (cut and made from transparent tights), some traditional silver jewellery, a waist band, Kamarbandh is the traditional name) and a payal to adorn my feet.

Dressing is imaging and actualising your thoughts and visions into reality. And the new reality is to break free from the traditional norms. It’s your way to rebel and raise the dicebel without saying a word! It’s your way of saying to the world that you have arrived. And all you did was to create a graceful combo!

A word of caution is must. You must know where to stop. You need to be a bit careful and understand that the mix and match you create isn’t like hearing, “Oh no!”

A last minute salsa for today’s treat on fashion is adding a Rajasthani full back open long blouse to a fitted black jeans with a silver key-ring on your waistband. It’s lethal attraction! Dare to dress and go to a disco or young funk party. Trust me, you will be the Salsa!
