A poem of hope and courage that Sarala had penned keeping in mind the World Disability Day on December 3, earlier this month, in Different Truths.
She is all of four feet ten
But walks tall at six feet ten
Holding her head high
With a twinkle in her eyes
She fears none and
She has no foe
She walks with a
Lighted candle
When she walks through
The slums and feeding many
She angers at people
Who cares not for poor?
Her trembling hands
And feet know
How she copes up
With her lifelong friend
Parkinson’s
She stumbles and stutters
Shakes and quivers
But never gives up
Hope in her heart!
She is not scared
Of the dark nights
And the hooting of the owl
She is strong enough
As she has trust in her Lord!
She is a great friend
To all suffering and lonely
And she wants to
Console the disabled around
Through the divine light
Shining bright from her heart!
