Every person self-pities himself/herself for doing so and thinks that they are the only ones dealing with problems and the rest are enjoying life. They end up asking the common question ‘why me?’ You see the grass always looks greener on the other side! This wrong notion creates a sense of helplessness and gives one the liberty to divert and lose focus. They end up indulging in things that allows them to forget the current issue. The need of the hour would be to get a different perspective from your near and dear ones or just to share the turbulence. Sailasree tells us about a conversation with her friend, over a cup of coffee that helped them deal with the turbulences of their lives, in this candid write-up, exclusively for Different Truths.

On a relaxing Saturday, in the company of a dear friend over a cup of coffee a conversation started about our current problems in life. The discussion extended and included problems of our common friends too. Various thoughts emerged during the conversation with a friend that soothed the turbulence of our inner storm.

In this fast-paced world, everyone is knee deep in their own crap be it personal, professional or emotional. Believe me! When I say, everyone is fighting their own battle. The battle may be at different levels and to attain peace, satisfaction, love, service, happiness or wholeness.

When the mind is foggy and confused, one cannot think clearly even though one might know the solution to the problem.

We tend to forget that these problems are the direct consequences of the choices we made. We and only we are responsible for the situations we are in no matter what. Mastering the art of decision making will help us live a life beyond ordinary. Most of us try to relive our past, forget our present and are too curious about our future.

We need to accept, breathe and let go. Let go our past but not our dream. What is gone is gone; try to live in the present and I would say live in the moment. Live for what today has to offer, not for what yesterday has taken away and not for what tomorrow has in stock. Life as we remember it is full of moments and so one should create as many beautiful, happy, weird, memorable, loving, funny and crazy moments as one can. We love and live to cherish these moments and derive our inner strength which drives and motivates us to deal with the problems as such.

After the conversation, I felt very refreshed and rejuvenated. It was like I knew the solution to all my problems and my mind was too clogged to see this. Surrounding yourself with positivity and positive people changes your perspective and way of thinking. The positive vibrations make you thrive to better yourself in every aspect of life. I am blessed to have such souls in my life, as life is too short so live, laugh and love!

Cheers to friends and thoughtful conversations which bring out the best versions of ourselves. And thanks to cuppa coffee!
