Sumann is an aerospace and defence journalist, and a foreign policy expert. She writes for various mainstream media and independently (print & TV) for the past 12 years, from New Delhi. An ex-instructor from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, she has a special interest in fighter flying and has test-flown fighters like American F-16, Russian MiG-35, Sukhoi-30, and the Spanish Eurofighter Typhoon. She spent a month on the Siachen Glacier. She won the annual GR8 Women Achiever's award-2010 in Mumbai, and the CMSB Journalist of the Year-2013, in Bangalore.
